Creating art is such a personal endeavor, requiring determination and perseverance to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. It's a truly self driven career. In many ways, it is a way of life. At least for me, in 1988, I chose to move to New York City. I was in my late 20's. I had maybe one or two friends here and about $3000. It was a very scary time for me. Coming from Southern California, basically a beach girl, graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. New York was an incredibly exciting foreign land. For 3 months, every day, I traveled by metro north from Greenwich, Connecticut into Manhattan to show my portfolio, hoping for freelance work. It was grueling. Running out of money very quickly, small jobs here and there. A College friend was heading off to vacation, and she worked for Ralph Lauren as a sketch artist/designer. I was hired to cover her vacation. My first real break, from that point on life clicked!
Using a broad range of materials, such as, watercolors, watercolor sticks, oils, egg tempra, oil sticks, oil pastels, Nu-pastels, carbon, fabric, plaster, clay, wire, wood, paper mâché and photography as my tools of expression. I draw and paint on fabric, raw canvas, stretched canvas, watercolor paper and Oleo paper, sculpt and carve on and with paper, clay, stone and wood. The art I create is usually figurative or landscapes. It can be somewhat realistic or sometimes abstract and simplified. I classify myself as an Expressionist.

Very excited to announce my recent inclusion in the Swann Galleries Auction House in New York City. These were pieces I illustrated for Polo Ralph Lauren Stadium Collections in the 1990's. There will be future Auctions that will include logos and original wildlife illustrations from various Polo Ralph Lauren Collections.
